England won the first one-day international against West Indies on the Duckworth-Lewis method in farcical circumstances.
England finally triumphed when West Indies coach John Dyson called his side in for bad light, after thinking his side were ahead on the Duckworth-Lewis method.
However, he had miscalculated and it was the tourists who prevailed by one run as the cricket betting favourites won the first match on their tour of the Caribbean.
Paul Collingwood (69) and Owais Shah (62) helped England reach 270-7 in their 50 overs before Stuart Broad took three wickets as the West Indies were restricted to 244-7 with 22 balls of their innings left.
Elsewhere, Harbhajan Singh took six wickets as India beat New Zealand by ten wickets in the first Test in Hamilton.
India had led by 241 runs after the first innings and, despite a 76-run stand for the ninth wicket between Brendon McCullum and Iain O'Brien, the Black Caps made only 279 in their second innings, setting their opponents a victory target of just 39 which they eased to.
Centuries by Jacques Kallis and Ashwell Prince helped South Africa reach 404-3 on day two of the third Test against Australia.
