The will he, won't he saga rolls into Sao Paulo for this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix with all eyes on Jenson Button.

The Brawn GP driver seems to have been on the cusp of winning his maiden Formula One world championship for weeks now, but he remains unable to nudge his car over the finishing line.

Button remains the favourite in the online betting markets to claim the drivers' championship as he still sits comfortably ahead of the chasing pack with two races remaining in the season.

Sebastian Vettel closed the gap on Button to 16 points with victory in the Japanese Grand Prix two weeks ago.

Button's team-mate, Rubens Barrichello, remains his closest challenger with the Brazilian 14 points adrift.

However, Vettel believes the tide may have turned in his favour after wrapping up his third win of the season at Suzuka.

"Jenson will be looking at both sides," said the German, referring to the competition Button is facing from both himself and Barrichello.

"As I've said many times already, I will fight until the end, until the last breath," he declared.

Button though is in no mood to concede an inch after a season where he appeared to be untouchable.

He won six of the first seven races on the calendar before a mid-season slump - he's only finished on the podium once in his last eight races - breathed new life into the title race.

"I only lost one point to Rubens (in Japan), which is my main priority," he explained.

"Obviously we lost a few points to Sebastian but we were expecting them to be strong here.

"We go to two circuits now which should suit our car so I'm excited about the end of the season and already looking forward to the next race in Brazil."

Button will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Lewis Hamilton after his fellow Brit secured his own world championship crown on the penultimate corner of the last lap at the iconic Interlagos circuit 12 months ago.

Hamilton finished fifth last season behind eventual home race winner Felipe Massa for Ferrari, Renault's Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen and, interestingly, the Red Bull of Vettel.

Vettel has been installed the sportsbook favourite to go well again in Brazil and a victory here coupled with a poor showing from Button would really put the cat amongst the Formula One pigeons.
