Murray eases into last eight

Andy Murray moved into the quarter-finals of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami by thrashing Viktor Troicki 6-1 6-0.

The Scot will now face his Australian Open conqueror Fernando Verdasco, who beat Czech Radek Stepanek 6-2 6-2.

Rafael Nadal struggled to beat Stanislas Wawrinka 7-6 7-6 while tournament betting favourite Roger Federer enjoyed a comfortable 6-3 6-2 win over American qualifier Taylor Dent.

Third seed Novak Djokovic cruised to a 6-3 6-2 victory over Tomas Berdych and now faces the Frenchman, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga , who beat compatriot Gilles Simon 6-7 6-3 6-2.

Andy Roddick beat Gael Monfils 7-6 6-4 and now faces Federer in the last eight.

Meanwhile, in the women's draw eighth seed Svetlana Kuznetsova defeated Caroline Wozniacki 6-4 6-7 6-1 and will play fellow Russian Victoria Azarenka in the semi-finals after she eased past Samantha Stosur 6-1 6-0.

In football, Colchester United snatched a late smash-and-grab win to derail Millwall's automatic League One promotion ambitions with Clive Platt powering home his header with only six minutes left.

Tony Pilkington was Huddersfield Town's hero, producing a superb solo performance, scoring one goal and then setting up the winner as the Terriers won 2-1 at Bristol Rovers.

Teenage striker Jonathan Obika, who is on loan at Yeovil Town from Tottenham Hotspur, scored his second goal in successive games as the Glovers won the relegation six-pointer against Northampton Town 1-0.

Lincoln City grabbed their first win in five games thanks to Romanian striker Adrian Patulea as they beat Macclesfield Town 1-0, while an own goal from the unfortunate Luke Prosser was enough to hand victory to ten-man Exeter City against Port Vale.

Jake Robinson's second-half equaliser dented Chesterfield's play-off ambitions as Aldershot Town hit back to draw 1-1 against the Spireites.
