Portsmouth's relegation to the Championship has all but been confirmed after the Premier League's bottom club confirmed that they have gone into administration.

Pompey, who are believed to have debts of approximately £60million, will have nine points deducted which will leave them 17 points away from safety with only 12 games of the campaign remaining.

The club were due to face a winding-up order on 1 March but have decided to enter administration after being unable to attract a new buyer.
