Manchester City's Brazil ace Robinho has moved to play down continuing rumours linking him with a move to Barcelona in the January transfer window.

The 25-year-old is the centre of intense media speculation over his future, with Barca keen to tempt the former Real Madrid forward back to Spain.

However, Robinho, who is currently sidelined by an ankle problem, told reporters: "I am so happy with my club. People talk a lot but the truth is I'm trying to be happy to play again."

Brazil superstar Kaka says that he has no regrets about turning down a move to Manchester City, having left AC Milan in the summer to join Real Madrid.

The 27-year-old forward has scored four times in 14 appearances for Real following his big-money switch to the Bernabeu, having been a target for the Citizens in the January transfer window.

Kaka told reporters: "Do I regret not moving to Manchester City? No. I am happy with what I have chosen in my life."

Celtic defender John Kennedy has announced his retirement from the game after failing to recover from a string of knee problems.

The 26-year-old came through the youth team system at Parkhead and made his first-team debut almost a decade ago.

His injury problems started when he suffered a serious knee ligament injury on his Scotland debut against Romania in March 2004, a problem that kept him sidelined for three years.

Soon after he returned to first-team action, Kennedy twisted his knee in a Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk and has not played for the Bhoys since.

England captain Paul Collingwood was delighted by his side's performance in the one-run win over South Africa in the first of two Twenty20 internationals.

A rain-affected clash at The Wanderers in Johannesburg ended in England's favour, largely thanks a superb partnership between skipper Collingwood and rising star Eoin Morgan.

Collingwood said: "We don't play a lot of international Twenty20 cricket, so it's important to get the wins under your belt - to gain in things like confidence in that form of the game."

England's Paul Casey will miss the season-ending Dubai World Championship due to ongoing problems with a rib injury.

The 32-year-old, who is currently ranked number five in the world and is also fifth in the Race to Dubai standings, has been troubled by the injury from some time and was forced to miss the USPGA Championships earlier on in the campaign.

Spanish left-hander Fernando Verdasco has claimed the final spot at the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals at London's O2 Arena.

Verdasco will join Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Juan Martin Del Potro, Andy Roddick and Nikolay Davydenko in London, despite an early exit at the Paris Masters.
