Manchester United's Portuguese ace Cristiano Ronaldo is reported to have stated that his dream of playing for Real Madrid is dead.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu for well over a year, having seemed certain to head to Spain at one point last summer.
Football betting experts were backing Ronaldo to be starting next season in La Liga.
However, Ronaldo says he is now fully focused on life at Old Trafford, as he has three years of his current five-year contract still to run.
He is quoted in the Sunday Mirror as saying: "I'm no longer thinking of Madrid, that dream is dead. The only thing I dream about now is Manchester United and winning the Champions League again in Rome."
Meanwhile, Wayne Rooney says he would love to spend the rest of his career with the Red Devils, having spent nearly five years with United already.
He told The Sunday Telegraph: "I am happy here and I'd sign a new contract at any time.
"I want to stay at this club for the rest of my career. I will sign an extension any time the club wants me to."
Denmark central defender Daniel Agger has pledged his long-term future to Liverpool by signing a new contract running until the summer of 2014.
The 24-year-old had been linked with a move away from Anfield in recent months, but has now opted to stay put with the Premier League title hopefuls.
Reds boss Rafael Benitez told the club's official website: "This is extremely good news for Liverpool moving forward and demonstrates our intention to build on the progress we have already made this season.
"Daniel is still young, but with great quality and will be a very important player for us in the years ahead.
"I'm sure there were many other clubs monitoring the situation closely, but throughout our discussions Daniel made it clear that he wanted to stay at Liverpool and achieve success here.
"I'm delighted we've secured his future at Anfield."
Meanwhile Ronaldinho will not be leaving AC Milan at the end of the season, according to his agent.
The Brazil star has endured a mixed first season in Serie A with the Rossoneri following his arrival from Barcelona.
However, his brother and agent, Roberto De Assis, claims the former world and European player of the year will be staying at the San Siro.
"We will not be leaving Milan," he claimed in a brief statement.
The father of Ricky Hatton has said he will support his son's decision over his future in boxing, after seeing him knocked out in the second round of his IBO light-welterweight title fight with Manny Pacquiao.
Hatton senior said: "We will leave the decision to Ricky and we always support him.
"At this moment in time he probably has a few mixed feelings about it and it is only Ricky who can make the decision."
