Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he will be looking to sign a new striker in next month's transfer window as he tries to bolster his struggling squad.

The Gunners have lost their last two Premier League matches, are 11 points behind leaders Chelsea and recently discovered that Robin van Persie will be sidelined for five months.

Italian teenager Federico Macheda has signed a new four-year contract extension with Manchester United.

The highly-rated 18-year-old will now remain at Old Trafford until the end of the 2013-14 campaign.

Macheda joined United from Lazio in September 2007 and made a dramatic introduction to the Premier League when he scored on his debut in the pivotal 3-2 win against Aston Villa in April.
