Welcome to the first round of the Western Conference playoff series where without any major surprises the Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs finish as the number one and two seed.

Welcome to the first round of the Western Conference playoff series where without any major surprises the Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs finish as the number one and two seed. The Warriors finish on fire with a 67-15 record while the Spurs slipped a bit at the end of the regular season and finished 6 games back at 61-21.

Golden State will face off in the first round against the Portland Trailblazers who finished in the eight spot a whole 14 games behind the Warriors. It’s not much to predict a four game sweep here as the Warriors took care of business by winning all four games this season by an average of nearly 20 points a contest. The Warriors have revenge on their mind and also Kevin Durant back in the line up. You wont be surprised by this prediction. GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS 4-0.

The Spurs find themselves in a very interesting situation. They face the 43-39 Memphis Grizzlies who they seem to struggle with. Memphis has pulled off this upset before and are prime to do it again. The series was tied 2-2 this year with both teams winning on their home court. This should be a lot more difficult for the Spurs than expected but they will win.  SAN ANTONIO SPURS 4-2.

The new and improved Houston Rockets finished 3rd at 55-27 and are one of the most offensive explosive teams the NBA has ever seen. James Harden has reinvented his game and is in position for league MVP. This will be the best series because the other MVP candidate is Russel Westbrook of the OKC Thunder. These two will face off in what might go seven games if Westbrook could get a few teammates to play along with him. Enjoy this duel between these two superstars and look for Harden to get the better of it.  HOUSTON ROCKETS 4-2.

The 4 vs 5 matchup will be a good one. The LA Clippers play host to the Utah Jazz. The Jazz tied with LA at 51-31 but lost the season series three games to one. The Clippers like to score but seem to have some problems against the Jazz. Although they won three of four they only averaged 91 points a game. Utah is a team that should make things difficult for LA and here I will predict the upset even though a 4 beating a 5 is not really going out on a limb.  UTAH JAZZ 4-2.
