FA Cup replay: West Ham v Liverpool preview

West Ham 4/5 to progress

West Ham are favourites to dump Liverpool out of the FA Cup in tonight’s fourth-round replay at Upton Park.

The Reds are again expected to field a weakened team and West Ham are 4/5 to take advantage and get through to the next round while they are 29/20 for victory in 90 minutes.

Liverpool are 21/20 to progress and much will depend on Jurgen Klopp’s team selection, with strikers Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and playmaker Philippe Coutinho available for selection.

Klopp will continue to rest players he believes are in need of a break after a hectic January so the likes of Steven Caulker, Brad Smith, Kevin Stewart and Joao Teixeira are likely to get a run-out alongside more regular first-teamers like Christian Benteke.

Sturridge, who has not played since early December, was a surprise inclusion on the bench on Saturday ahead of schedule and he is 2/1 to be on the scoresheet tonight.

A fifth-round trip to Blackburn awaits the winners after the clash at Anfield in the original tie finished goalless. Another 0-0 draw can be backed at 8/1 while 12/5 is on offer for there to be no more than one goal.

West Ham have beaten a full-strength Liverpool twice in the league this season but could not break down a youthful side on Merseyside.

“We've played Liverpool many times this season, twice recently with different line-ups,” said boss Slaven Bilic. “We played their strongest team and then a team with five or six regular starters, so we are well prepared for whatever team they come with.

“They are a big club, a big side. They've had ups and downs this season but make no mistake, whenever a team is facing them you have to have a complete game. You can't give them time and space because they will harm you, they have quality. We have to be good, brave, direct and skilful, which we showed in two out of the three games we played them.”

Bilic will be without defender James Tomkins due to a calf injury and with Sam Byram cup-tied and Carl Jenkinson out for the season, Joey O'Brien will start at right-back.
