It was a case of close but no cigar for our 15/1 Championship accumulator – Fulham let us down away at Bristol City. But we’re back with another second tier four-fold and Cardiff City lead our thoughts this weekend.
Will Bristol City foil the accumulator for the second time in the space of five days? Only time will tell...
Check out our thoughts on the action below. Current betting markets and odds are available for this weekend’s Championship fixtures and beyond – hopefully we will be celebrating a few winners before the end of the season.
BURTON ALBION vs MILLWALL
Burton’s Championship record at Pirelli Stadium has been shocking – the Brewers haven’t won on home soil since September but that could change in the coming weeks.
Burton are unbeaten in three league games and another positive result may be on the cards on Saturday afternoon.
Millwall are unbeaten in five Championship matches and it would take a brave man to back against the visitors here.
Over 1.5 goals looks an absolute certainty; the selection has landed in six of Burton’s previous eight league games and in Millwall’s last five away fixtures.
TIP: Over 1.5 goals @ 2/5
LEEDS UNITED vs BRENTFORD
Over 2.5 goals has landed in five of Leeds United’s previous six matches and that may sway punters to opt for this betting market.
The Elland Road faithful will be hoping for another solid effort after earning a draw away at Derby County earlier this week.
Brentford are improving on a weekly basis and the Bees will take plenty of confidence from their 5-0 victory over Birmingham City.
The selection has landed in nine of Brentford’s last 13 away fixtures and another high scoring affair looks likely here. 3/4 represents solid value considering this record.
TIP: Over 2.5 goals @ 3/4
PRESTON NORTH END vs Ipswich Town
Preston have lost just once in their previous eight home league games and Alex Neil will be quietly confident of leading his side to another huge win here.
North End are now just three points behind the playoff places and plenty of punters will be keen to back the hosts when Ipswich Town visit Deepdale this weekend.
With just one victory in their last six games, Ipswich are in desperate need of a confidence boosting win.
Mick McCarthy’s men came within a whisker of beating Norwich City in the East Anglian Derby last weekend. 7/10 for a Preston success is a price well worth taking.
TIP: Preston to win @ 7/10
CARDIFF CITY vs Bristol City
Cardiff have won their last three home leagues games – all without conceding a goal.
The Bluebirds are second in the Championship table and punters will be keen to back the Welsh outfit to secure promotion back to the top flight.
Bristol City have gone five Championship away games without a win and it is hard to back against Cardiff on current form.
11/10 is a great price considering their recent form and Neil Warnock’s side will take some stopping. It won’t be one-sided but Cardiff should be strong enough on home soil.
TIP: Cardiff City to win @ 11/10
