The 2018/19 Championship season got underway last weekend and plenty of punters were celebrating after a few last-gasp winners.

Birmingham City were held to a 2-2 draw at home against Norwich City and Garry Monk’s men travel to early pacesetters Middlesbrough this weekend.

Nottingham Forest head our second tier accumulator – Aitor Karanka’s men head into this weekend’s clash with Reading after drawing their first two games of the campaign.

Forest are well placed to pick up three points here and punters will be tempted by the 8/11 on offer with 888sport. Scroll down for our best bets on this weekend’s Championship action

NOTTINGHAM FOREST vs READING

Karanka’s men were second favourites to lift the Championship title before the opening weekend and Forest have been solid enough so far this season.

West Bromwich Albion snatched a draw at the City Ground during the week and Forest can bounce back at the first possible opportunity with three points here.

Reading suffered a disappointing last-gasp defeat against Derby County – Tom Lawrence’s goal coming from nowhere in the dying embers at the Madejski Stadium.

The Royals were in the relegation mix last season and another tough campaign could be on the cards if Paul Clement’s side fail to build momentum in the early stages of the season.

TIP: Nottingham Forest to win @ 8/11

PREDICTED SCORE: Nottingham Forest 2-1 Reading (Priced at 7/1 with 888sport)

STOKE CITY vs BRENTFORD

Stoke were poor against Leeds United on the opening weekend – Gary Rowett’s men were second best in every department.

They did snatch an away goal courtesy of Benik Afobe though and the Potters will be a different beast on home soil. The outcome of this clash will tell us more about their title chances this campaign.

Brentford got off to the perfect start against Rotherham United and the Bees will take some stopping based on those excursions.

Away from home, they may struggle against some of the Championship’s stronger clubs but Brentford have the quality to go close in their pursuit of automatic promotion. Both teams to score could be the way to go here.

TIP: Both teams to score @ 4/7

PREDICTED SCORE: Stoke City 1-1 Brentford (Priced at 6/1 with 888sport)

SWANSEA CITY vs PRESTON NORTH END

Swansea produced one of the performances of the weekend, beating Sheffield United at Bramhall Lane.

The Welsh side were tipped to struggle this campaign and sterner tests await in the near future. A win here may change a few opinions on Swansea’s chances of glory this season – some punters may be tempted by the 13/10 available for a home win.

Preston will be hoping to finish in the playoff spots this campaign and it would take a brave man to back against the Deepdale outfit.

Alex Neil’s side edged past Queens Park Rangers in their opening fixture and supporters will be hoping for a more offensive display here. Goals at both ends is the best way to go with these two clubs

TIP: Both teams to score @ 17/20

PREDICTED SCORE: Swansea 1-1 Preston (Priced at 5/1 with 888sport)

DERBY COUNTY vs LEEDS UNITED

Frank Lampard’s side were my tip to win the Championship crown this season and the Rams snatched an injury-time winner in the curtain raiser last Friday.

Derby will be expecting to build on that result here and the Pride Park faithful will be quietly confident of another three points. 11/10 is a great price for a home win.

Leeds were simply sublime against Stoke on Sunday afternoon and it would take a brave man to write Marcelo Bielsa’s side off here.

The visitors have enough quality to test this Derby defence and another high-scoring encounter looks likely. Once again, both teams to score is the pick at 8/11 in this clash.

TIP: Both teams to score @ 8/11

PREDICTED SCORE: Derby 2-1 Leeds (Priced at 15/2 with 888sport)
