England have been runners-up in consecutive European Championships and are priced as one of the sports betting favourites for this summer’s World Cup. A highly talented squad is certainly capable of going all the way.

Three Lions supporters will be hoping to see England make a fast start at the tournament, with victories over Croatia, Ghana and Panama key to building momentum into the competition.

What is the average salary for England players?

The average salary of the England World Cup squad is more than £100,000 per week. Even with big names like Phil Foden, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Cole Palmer left out, the majority of Thomas Tuchel’s squad is on six figures per week.

Surprise inclusion Djed Spence is one of the players on the lowest salary at a reported £40,000 per week. In line for a pay rise when he makes a big move this summer, Elliot Anderson is also on £40,000 per week.

Who are the top earning players for England?

Ivan Toney is reportedly on £400,000 per week after wages in the Saudi Pro League. That puts Toney up with Harry Kane as England’s highest-earning player, with Jude Bellingham trailing closely behind on more than £350,000 per week at Real Madrid.

In his final season at Manchester City, John Stones earned £250,000 per week. It’s unclear where Stones will be playing next season, but a significant pay cut is expected.

How much does the England manager earn?

Thomas Tuchel is earning £5 million per year as England manager. Carlo Ancelotti is the only national team manager on a larger annual salary.

Tuchel, an expert in cup competitions throughout his club management career, was hired to get England over the hump after several near-misses under Gareth Southgate.
