With a grand total of £7,470,000 prize money of offer across the four days of the York Ebor Festival, it’s little wonder the Knavesmire attracts some of the best thoroughbred racehorses in the world.
One of the biggest horse racing betting fixtures of the summer, all eyes will be on York and there is a huge amount of money on offer for winning connections - making it a 'must' for the top trainers, owners and jockeys.
The main prize money features of Ebor Festival Week 2026 are as follows:
- Record prize fund for the Group 1 Juddmonte International at £1,500,000 – Voted the World’s Best Horse Race 2014, 2020, 2024.
- Juddmonte International is part of the “British Midsummer Bonus” in partnership with Ascot and Goodwood Racecourses.
- Group 1 Pertemps Network Yorkshire Oaks, Coolmore City Of Troy Nunthorpe and Sky Bet City Of York each with a prize fund of £600,000.
- The Ebor is the richest flat handicap in Europe at £500,000. The only European Ballot Exempt qualifier for the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
- Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Gimcrack Stakes is the richest juvenile Group 2 in Britain at £250,000.
- The Lowther is the richest juvenile fillies’ Group 2 in Britain at £250,000.
- The Strensall Stakes is the richest all age Group 3 at a record £175,000.
- The Tattersalls Acomb is the richest juvenile Group 3 in Britain, at a record £175,000, run without any entry restrictions and is a Breeders’ Cup Win, and You’re In race.
- Harry’s Half Million by Goffs, at a guaranteed £500,000, also giving the winning trainer the use of a Theault Horsebox for six months.
- The EBF Convivial and Sky Bet Nursery, at £100,000 are Britain’s most valuable maiden and nursery handicap races, being amongst 44 contests at six figures or more.
