Playing in their first-ever World Cup, Cape Verde have long sports betting odds to win their group. Simply getting to this stage is an immense achievement for a country with a population of around 500,000.

Likely to be huge underdogs for all three group fixtures against Spain, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay, Cape Verde are unlikely to make a splash this summer - but that won't stop their fans from enjoying the occasion.

What is the average salary for Cape Verde players?

The average weekly wage of the Cape Verde 2026 World Cup squad is around £5,000. Exact numbers aren’t publicly available for many of the Cape Verde squad, but they don’t have any stars that are going to be on £50,000+ per week.

There’s a wide-ranging selection of clubs across the squad. Players are spread across Russia, Portugal, Bulgaria, and other leagues, with the majority plying their trade in Europe.

Who are the top earning players for Cape Verde?

Kevin Pina and Logan Costa are considered the two highest-earning players in Cape Verde’s World Cup squad. Pina is reportedly on £18,000 per week with Krasnodar.

Costa, a defender for Villarreal, has a considerably larger salary, per Capology. The 25-year-old is believed to be on more than £30,000 per week.

How much does the Cape Verde manager earn?

Pedro Leitão Brito, usually known as ‘Bubista’, hasn’t had his salary reported. Comparisons with other nations would suggest Bubista is on approximately £100,000 per year, however.

Brito has been in charge of Cape Verde since January 2020. He led them to the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations, and has cemented his place in football history as the first manager to take Cape Verde to the World Cup.
