Back in the World Cup for the first time since 2010, Paraguay are looking to make their mark this summer. The White and Red will have been more than happy to be drawn alongside the United States, Australia, and Turkey.

Very few people are going to be considering Paraguay as a sports betting option to make the final, but they’ve had some big results over the last couple of years and shouldn’t be taken lightly.

What is the average salary for Paraguay players?

The average salary of the 26 players in Paraguay’s World Cup squad is in the £20,000 region. Exact figures are not available for all of the players in the squad, but a spread across South America, MLS, and Europe suggests these players are handsomely compensated.

Salaries will vary considerably across the squad. The highest-earning players could be on more than £50,000 per week, with others earning less than £10,000 per week.

Who are the top earning players for Paraguay?

Miguel Almiron, the biggest name in the Paraguayan World Cup squad, is on around £85,000 per week with Atlanta United - if you bet on football, chances are you'll know all about him and his skillset.

Brighton’s Diego Gómez is reportedly on just £25,000 per week while young Strasbourg forward Julio Enciso is on roughly £40,000 per week. The 22-year-old has four goals in 31 appearances for his national team.

How much does the Paraguay manager earn?

Gustavo Alfaro’s salary is £2.2 million per year. According to Planet Football, Alfaro is just outside the top 10 in world football.

Manager of Ecuador between 2020 and 2023, Alfaro has been in charge of Paraguay since 2024. He’s approaching 1,000 matches in management across a 34-year period.
