It's been a busy, exciting summer at Liverpool in June and beginning of July... and then a complicated one in August. What's going on at the club?

After the excellent signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, two fantastic additions for a total package of almost €110m which is a bargain for two midfielders of such a high level, few expected both Jordan Henderson and Fabinho to leave the club after Naby Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Milner.

A real revolution, a completely new midfield with the unexpected factor of the Saudi league that forced Liverpool to deal with the departures of two key players such as Fabinho and Henderson.

From that moment, the club with the new director Schmadzke decided to look for different alternatives on the market. The battle with Chelsea for Moisés Caicedo was won for only 12 hours, from midnight last Thursday... until lunchtime.

The deal between Liverpool and Brighton was secured thanks to a £110m British record fee, all ready for paperwork before the player collapsed the deal.

He, Moisés Caicedo himself, spoke directly to Jurgen Klopp to thank him for the interest but declined the proposal. "I just want Chelsea, thanks again", his clear message from him to the German manager; no chance to change his mind, that's why Liverpool found themselves investing a huge amount of money on one single player to move to a different strategy in the space of 3 days.

A last minute offer was not enough to convince Romeo Lavia: even the Belgian preferred Chelsea despite three bids from Liverpool in the last three weeks, the timing was not lucky for the Reds.

The biggest surprise came on Wednesday evening: Liverpool with a blitz in 24 hours decided to start reinforcing the midfield with a completely unexpected new player, the Stuttgart captain Wataru Endo, 30 years old and with enormous experience in the Bundesliga where he has long been loved by the Stuttgart fans for his professionalism, will to fight and hard work.

A soldier that Jurgen Klopp would like to replace those like Henderson and Milner who have fought nonstop for years at Anfield, that is the concept that prompted Liverpool to proceed with Endo in 24 hours.

The player has asked the German club not to create problems in the negotiation in order to fulfill his dream, play in the Premier League with Liverpool and hear the Kop sing his name.

Those close to the player guarantee that this is a desire that Endo had for years, which is why Liverpool's call was immediately worth as an agreement: not even a moment to discuss personal terms, an instant yes from Wataru who has already completed medical tests on Thursday on Merseyside.

And what's next at Liverpool? The club is scouting the market for one more midfielder of a higher level, an important player who can help Jurgen Klopp's team immediately.

The negotiations continue, be careful because there may still be surprises...
