We are at the finish line of the 2022/23 Premier League season, but not before a couple of midweek fixtures to fill in the gaps. On Wednesday, Europa League-destined Brighton play champions Manchester City, before Chelsea and Manchester United clash on Sunday.
That completes all the catch-up fixtures, which leaves us with a full coupon of matches for Premier League betting on Sunday, 28th May.
Arsenal vs Wolves
Aston Villa vs Brighton
Brentford vs Man City
Chelsea vs Newcastle
Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest
Everton vs Bournemouth
Leeds vs Spurs
Leicester vs West Ham
Man Utd vs Fulham
Southampton vs Liverpool
Manchester City were crowned champions for the fifth time in the last six seasons on the weekend. Arsenal’s loss to Nottingham Forest handed City the title on Saturday. Pep Guardiola’s men then went out and celebrated with a 1-0 home win over Chelsea on Sunday. That’s one leg of the treble secured for the Citizens with the FA Cup and Champions League Finals to come.
Brighton confirmed European football for the first time in their history with a victory over Southampton last weekend. That’s a tremendous achievement for the Seagulls who will finish sixth to go to the Europa League. Right behind them the race for seventh promises a dramatic climax.
Aston Villa start the final round of action in 7th, a point ahead of Spurs with Brentford one point further back. It’s Spurs that on paper have the most favourable final fixture as they meet the relegation-threatened Leeds. But with Spurs badly out of form, losing four of their last six, can the Londoners deliver?
Nottingham Forest’s aforementioned victory over Arsenal secured top-flight football for Steve Cooper’s men for another term. With Southampton already down, heading into the final weekend it leaves Leicester, Leeds and Everton scrapping it out for the one last survival spot to remain in the Premier League.
All three of them will look for the lift from a home game, with Everton fighting Bournemouth who are on a three-match losing streak at Goodison Park. Leeds have a massive task at Elland Road where they have to beat Tottenham to have any chance of staying up. Leicester close out the season against West Ham.
At 888 Sport, we know what a difference 90 minutes can make. That’s why – much like the busiest of the midfield maestros – our betting types cover every blade of grass on the pitch, including half and full-time scores, plus corners, cards and more.

Who will rule the English top-flight in the 2022/23 season? Manchester City will be defending their title, in what is set to be an interesting season that includes a break for World Cup betting odds over the winter. The Citizens secured last season’s title on a dramatic final day, coming from behind at home to beat Aston Villa.
The victory saw Man City pip Liverpool by a single point in the Premier League title race. It was one of the most thrilling top-flight duels for the honours ever, with Man City and Liverpool setting such phenomenally high standards.
Not surprisingly, Manchester City, especially with the signing of the prolific goalscorer Erling Haaland, are the current favourites in the 2022/23 Premier League odds. They are striving for their fifth title in six seasons.
Man City and Liverpool both finished light years ahead of anyone else in the 2021/22 Premier League. Second-placed Liverpool finished an astonishing 18 points ahead of third-placed finishers Chelsea.
Punters will be wondering if any other teams can close the gap in this campaign, which may boil down to spending power. Chelsea will be hoping to come back stronger after a season of turmoil with an improved squad.
After a fourth-place finish last term, Tottenham, under the tutelage of former Premier League-winning manager Antonio Conte will be another team looking to strengthen. They already have a powerful combo up front in Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min.
Will Manchester United be able to make up any ground after a disastrous 2021/22 campaign? Their new boss Erik Ten Hag will look to stamp positivity over the fallen giants. Premier League football betting odds suggest the Red Devils have a long way to go to get in the title race, however.
There will also be a lot of eyes on Newcastle. The Magpies received a massive injection of cash from a takeover, enough to potentially see them take some giant strides forward this season.
The Premier League odds are going to change as time rolls along, but for now, here are the current Premier League winner odds 2022/23.
Manchester City 4/7
Liverpool 2/1
Tottenham Hotspur 14/1
Chelsea 16/1
Manchester United 25/1
Arsenal 40/1
Newcastle 100/1
The Premier League was inaugurated in 1992/93 after a huge shake-up at the top of the English game. The former First Division was no more as along came a behemoth of the new Premier League at the top of the tiers.
There were 22 teams in the inaugural season of the competition and the only ever-present clubs are Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool Tottenham and Man Utd.
The early days of the Premier League were dominated by Manchester United and they are only one of seven clubs to have been crowned Premier League champions.
Manchester United - During Sir Alex Ferguson’s time at the club, Manchester United were almost untouchable. They won the first edition of the Premier League, dominating the 90s and 2000s. The Red Devils racked up 13 EPL titles, but the most recent was back in 2013.
Manchester City - It’s hard to remember that the Citizens were relegated from the Premier League in 2001. They are now one of the standard-setters in the division, winning four of the five previous titles, and last season was their sixth.
Chelsea - The Blues are five-time Premier League champions, but even they have found it hard to live with the power and class of Man City and Liverpool recently. The last title for the Blues was in the 2016/17 season.
Premier League Titles by numbers
Arsenal - Arsenal’s duels with Manchester United in the Premier League title race, were something to behold. The first Premier League title for the Gunners came in 1998 and in the 2003/04 campaign their ‘Invincibles’ lifted the crown without losing a single match.
Blackburn Rovers - Rovers were the first team besides Manchester United to win the Premier League, fired to success by England's great Alan Shearer. The Championship side are the only former winners not to currently be in the top flight.
Leicester City - The 2015/16 season of the top flight saw Leicester’s remarkable title. From out of the blue the 500/1 shots defied the massive odds under manager Claudio Ranieri to produce a shock title win.
Liverpool - The Reds have only got their hands on the Premier League title once, and they had to wait a long time to get it. Their breakthrough came in the 2019/20 season but are second-favourites to land the title in 2022/23 Premier League odds.
