What is the average salary for Algeria players?

The average salary for Algeria’s 2026 World Cup squad is likely around £35,000. There’s an incredibly large range of salaries across the Algeria squad from players representing clubs in Algeria and Tunisia through to big names on Champions League and Saudi Pro League squads.

There’s a relatively even split across the squad. A handful of players are representing French clubs, but there’s also a few in Germany and Italy.

Who are the top earning players for Algeria?

Captain Riyad Mahrez’s weekly wage of more than £800,000 makes him one of the highest-paid players in the world and by far Algeria’s highest-paid player ever. Mahrez has been on a massive salary since he signed for Al-Ahli in July 2023.

At Mahrez’s former club Manchester City, Rayan Aït-Nouri is on £120,000 per week. Houssem Aouar, who plays for Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, is on more than £100,000 per week. Borussia Dortmund’s Ramy Bensebaini earns roughly £80,000 per week.

How much does the Algeria manager earn?

Vladimir Petković earns approximately £100,000 per month as manager of Algeria. This is reportedly around a third of what he earned during his time in charge of Switzerland (2014 to 2021).

Petković has already made progress by qualifying for the World Cup. Algeria failed to qualify for the previous two editions.
