Today's NAP (Best Bet)

4.05 Catterick – Abate

He probably won’t be much of a price but the Adrian Nicholls-trained Abate looks like the good thing of the day on Catterick’s Wednesday card.

A winner last time out on the July Course at Newmarket, the six-year-old battled well up the final furlong incline and a reproduction of that run should be enough to see off his four rivals here.

With the other runners in this race pretty much out of form, this looks like a great opportunity for the Barry McHugh-ridden Abate to pick up this Class 4 Handicap.

The only conceivable danger appears to be from Bay Breeze who drops back in grade after being highly tried at York last time out.

Today's NB (Next Best)

3.38 Uttoxeter – Go All The Way

None of these novices are ever likely to make the Grand National betting any time soon, but a National winning trainer – Dr Richard Newland, has a great chance of taking this contest with his Go All The Way.

Newland is rather astute at getting these ex-Irish trained chasers back up to a decent standard again and he may just do that here with this former Francis Flood inmate.

Jockey Charlie Hammond boasts a 21% win strike rate when riding for Newland which is rather encouraging for those of you placing your horse racing online bets on this race.

Today's Longshot

5.13 Uttoxeter – Denable

The Anthony Carson-trained Denable is a long standing maiden on both the flat and over timber but has been showing enough on the flat of late to make him an interesting outsider here.

Dry conditions this week are going to see the ground rattling quick and Denable has been running under similar conditions on his last three outings.

His third placing behind Infiniti at Nottingham makes him an interesting each-way outsider.
