Bill Belichick Is The GOAT

As someone who saw the greatness of Bill Belichick first hand, it's even harder for me to comment on the situation because I'm thinking of all the success he had. He’s the greatest coach of all time, in my opinion.

This situation is tough – owners want to win; Robert Kraft wants to win, and this game is all about production. They teach us as players this is what you do. What did you do last week? What did you do on last play? It's not what happened before and everybody kind of falls underneath that banner.

We're all accountable. And if you think of it that way, you have to say to yourself, ‘what's next?’ You know, the Patriots haven't been able to turn this thing around since [Tom] Brady left town. And Belichick has so much control over there, who else gets the blame?

You can’t fire the general manager. He picks the talent and it falls on him, so he's in a really tough situation where I believe it will be a mutual parting if it happens and when it happens. There needs to be some hope because that's what a fanbase wants and needs, but I don't see a lot of hope around there.

They have a lot of injuries, especially to their defensive backs, which are their strong point.

They allow them to play the way they want to, but Mac Jones and that offense isn't doing anything different than it was before when they had two guys who have never caught offensive plays, so it's hard for me to have an opinion and talk about moving on from Bill Belichick because my respect for him is so high. But in this league, it's all about results.

Justin Jefferson Injury

The Minnesota Vikings need to plan for next week. They need they need to win this game. Everybody in that organisation is playing for their job, their title and their role. So, it's all about the next game and it’s all about winning.

What's hard and what's difficult is when you have a player like Justin Jefferson, the offense runs through him, meaning we're going to get you the ball if we have an advantageous situation.

And if they take you away, we know what they do, we know how they will try to do that, and we adjust accordingly to our other players. So how you call plays, how you manage the game completely changes without Justin Jefferson, he is that good of a player.

So, who's going to step up? Who's going to make sure that people adjust what they're doing and play at a higher click because that's what you have to do? And that's what as an owner or a team builder, you're looking to see. How do we coach around it or how do we play around it?

As a fan that's what you look for to do. We have faith and confidence in everybody else because we know this player isn't what he provides, but yet can we adjust? Can we change? Can we mould?

Because that's what you have to do in the NFL to be a champion. So, everybody else is being evaluated at a high level now with him not on the field.

Zach Wilson Hasn't Had It Easy

The Eagles are a bad matchup for the Jets. The Eagles have a culture of we're not going to have a ‘letdown’ game and it starts with their offensive line, the defensive line and the quarterback.

The way their leadership structure is, they're going to prepare and they're going to take on whatever challenges are ahead of them.

I will say that the Jets, what they had to do was come together and start another story. Their story this year was Aaron Rodgers – we got him and we’ve got this seriously good defense. We can go out there and win these games and that changed.

They need to hold on to whatever emotion that they had last week that helped them go out there, play and fight the way they did. That's going to be key and that's what they're going to have to continue to do. Off the back of that, they need to be motivated by this new identity.

Zach Wilson isn’t in the class of Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes, but we knew that. These guys are franchise quarterbacks, and he hasn't proven he’s at that level yet.

He's trying to make sure he can play to his best ability. He has the talent, but like anything, you have to have the confidence and belief in yourself. Unfortunately for Wilson, that has been damaged.

It's been difficult. It's the change of coaches, it's the change of offensive scheme and it’s who’s in his ear. That's tough for a player. He has to now manage that, get that confidence back, get the people in the locker room to believe in him again, but first he has to believe in himself.

He’s taken he's taken that step towards that and that’s what you have to do as a player. Once you get to that level, then people start comparing you to the others. Right now, everything for him is about ‘Can I be the Zach Wilson I was when I had complete confidence in myself?’

49ers Exposed Cowboys

I think the 49ers are the best team in the NFL and I think that this was a really bad match up for Dallas.

That says a lot about the Cowboys because if they want to progress in the playoffs, especially to get to the Super Bowl, they're going to have to compete and beat teams like the San Francisco 49ers. They got pushed around, they got bullied and they got exposed.

Dallas will be okay versus other teams and this isn't a panic button, but they got to find a way to get they got to find a way to match up better against San Francisco if they want to have any chance of getting to the Super Bowl.

Jordan Love Needs Time

I think everybody needs to relax and give Jordan Love time. I think he’s had five starts. I mean, we know at the quarterback position, we talk about them peaking in their early 30s and this guys has had five starts!

The problem is the fan base there has been so lucky, they went from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers – two Hall of Fame quarterbacks – so they've what they have seen is great quarterback play and you get spoiled.

So, I get why the fans are a bit frustrated. He’s played five games, though, so let him grow and learn from his mistakes.

Watch him bounce back this week, that's the key. Growth is what you want to see at the quarterback position. And as a fan, it's hard to be patient, but that's what you have to do; have patience.
