The Netherlands aren’t among the sports betting favourites to lift this summer’s World Cup, but no one would be surprised to see the Oranje in the latter stages.

The Dutch squad is littered with top-tier players, though there are some concerns over their quality in the final third. Yet to lift the World Cup trophy, the Netherlands are the class act in Group F and most fans will expect them to top the group ahead of Japan, Sweden and Tunisia.

What is the average salary for Netherlands players?

Only two of the Netherlands’ 26-man World Cup squad are playing outside the top five European leagues or the Netherlands. The average salary of the squad is likely to be around £65,000 per week.

Guus Til, Noa Lang, and Brian Brobbey are expected to be at the lower end of the squad’s wage list. Many of the world’s biggest clubs are represented, though, which is where we will see plenty of players earning £100,000+ per week.

Who are the top earning players for Netherlands?

On £350,000 per week, Virgil van Dijk is the highest-earning player in the Oranje’s World Cup squad. Nathan Ake’s £160,000 per week also puts him among the highest earners, along with Frenkie de Jong’s £330,000 and Tijjani Reijnders’ £230,000.

The other high earners include Cody Gakpo, Ryan Gravenberch, Micky van de Ven, and Jurriën Timber.

How much does the Netherlands manager earn?

Ronald Koeman’s salary to manage the Dutch national team is £2.6 million per year. There are reportedly seven managers at the World Cup earning more than Koeman annually.

This is Koeman’s second spell in charge of the Oranje with a brief time in charge of Barcelona separating his two stints. He’s also managed Everton, Southampton, and Feyenoord.
