Competing in their third consecutive World Cup, Tunisia head into this summer’s tournament with the aim of making it beyond the group stage for the first time ever.

The sports betting markets don’t fancy Tunisia’s chances of winning the group, but they have a squad capable of making life difficult for their opponents.

The 48-team format gives Tunisia a great chance of advancing to the knockout round and they'll fancy their chances of recording a positive result against either the Netherlands, Japan or Sweden and that might be enough to reach the last-32 stage.

What is the average salary for Tunisia players?

The average wage of Tunisia’s World Cup squad is likely to be in the £10,000 range. Six of the 26-man squad currently play in Tunisia where they are likely to be on less than £5,000 per week. Others, though, are dotted around the world and some are playing in leagues where salaries will be significantly higher.

Players in Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga are likely to earn tens of thousands per week, which will have a considerable impact on the average for the whole Tunisia squad.

Who are the top earning players for Tunisia?

Hannibal Mejiri is on approximately £30,000 per week. Plying his trade for the Bundesliga’s Eintracht Frankfurt, Ellyes Skhiri is reportedly on around £60,000 per week, making him one of the highest-earning Tunisian players ever.

Ali Abdi (Nice) is earning just under £40,000 per week. There are no public figures for Khalil Ayari’s salary at PSG, but he will be handsomely compensated, even as a member of their under-21 team.

How much does the Tunisia manager earn?

Sabri Lamouchi is reportedly on an annual salary of roughly £300,000. This puts Lamouchi on one of the lower salaries among World Cup managers.

Formerly in charge of Nottingham Forest, Rennes, and Cardiff City, Lamouchi took the Tunisia job in January 2026.
