Gordon Elliott has emerged over the years as the biggest challenger to the dominance of Willie Mullins on the Irish training scene, clocking up several hundred winners a season himself from his Cullentra House base.

He has saddled a total of 41 winners at The Cheltenham Festival and was crowned the leading trainer in both 2017 and 2018.

Here is our comprehensive A-Z stable tour of Gordon Elliott’s scheduled participants at The Festival this year:

  • BALLYFAD – A very gusty horse who keeps picking up. That style will suit the Supreme and he’s a live contender.
  • BRIGHTERDAYSAHEAD – Winner of 8 of her 12 starts over hurdles, she can add the Champion Hurdle to her Irish equivalent.
  • EL CAIROS -  A very quick horse, the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle will suit him down to the ground.
  • FAVORI DE CHAMPDOU - Goes to the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase at the Festival and then the Grand National at Aintree.
  • FIREFOX - He could be a horse that might run into a place in the Ryanair.
  • HONEST POLICY - Has landed three of his six starts over hurdles, including the Mersey Novices’ Hurdle at Aintree last April. Lines up in the Stayers’ at Cheltenham.
  • JACOB’S LADDER – Collected two of his five starts over fences thus far, with the Plate on day one being the target this March.
  • KALA CONTI - Finished second in the Scilly Isles Novices’ Chase at Sandown on her latest start and will contest the Mares’ Chase.
  • KAZANSKY - Ran well in the Grade 1 novice hurdle at Leopardstown and is entered in the Albert Bartlett.
  • KEEP HIM COMPANY - Unbeaten in bumpers at Fairyhouse and Leopardstown, he goes for the Champion Bumper now.
  • MANGE TOUT – Performed with credit behind Narciso Has last time and has Fred Winter and mares’ novices’ hurdle options available to her.
  • NDAAWI – Faces a fitness battle to be ready for the Coral or the County Hurdles.
  • OLDSCHOOL OUTLAW – The Mares' Novices' Hurdle will be the goal for this improving mare.
  • OPEN SECRET – He’ll need a few runners to pull out to get into a couple of the handicap hurdles.
  • ROMEO COOLIO – Landed the Irish Arkle at the Dublin Racing Festival and can double up at Prestbury Park.
  • SKYLIGHT HUSTLE – This Future Champions Novice Hurdle scorer can be a Turners Champion too.
  • SPINNINGAYARN - A good, tough, staying horse. He has the Albert Bartlett written all over him.
  • STELLAR STORY - Stellar Story will run in the Gold Cup, but only if the ground is on the softer side.
  • TEAHUPOO – Knows Cheltenham like the back of his hoof and will contest the Stayer’s Hurdle again.
  • THE GOFFER – The veteran performer can acquit himself very well in the Cross Country  Chase once again.
  • WESTERN FOLD - Solid performer who can make a good fist of it in the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase.
