Rosscahill

ROSSCAHILL looked a useful prospect when winning his first two starts under Rules here last term and, though his handicap debut display back at this course was rather low-key, it would be no surprise to see this former point winner get back on track now tackling the larger obstacles. If Stellar Stream resumes in good order he will be a threat, while Holokea and Pimlico Point are others for the shortlist.

Bought for £70,000 after easily winning an Irish point and created a good impression in winning a maiden and novice hurdle here last season. Failed to measure up to market expectations on handicap debut (again here) when last seen in January, but this 6-y-o is interesting now switched to fences.

Point/bumper winner who made a successful hurdles debut at Southwell in October 2024. Failed to build on that on that initially, but made the frame on several occasions earlier this year, including when runner-up starting out over fences at Worcester (23f, good to soft) in May. Solid claims.

Listed bumper winner who opened account in this sphere at the second attempt when taking a Huntingdon handicap (3m, soft) last November. Wasn't disgraced over hurdles on latest run during the spring (since undergone a wind op) and she's not ruled out off a workable mark.

Little impact first 2 starts following a break in February, but much more like it when second in an 8-runner Worcester handicap (23f, good to soft) during the summer. On a workable mark and needs considering with conditions in his favour.

Back-to-back winner of Chepstow handicap chases in December 2021, but very lightly-raced and largely out of sorts since. Resumes from a break with first-time cheekpieces enlisted and House of Stories is presumably the stable No 1.

Now 5 lb lower in the weights compared to when opening his account in this sphere at Bangor in February 2024. More miss than hit since, but would be a danger to all if on-song with cheekpieces refitted back from a 6-month break.

Dual winner at Chepstow during 2023/24 campaign and bounced back to his best when runner-up in 23f handicap chase at Lingfield in February. However, failed to build on that at Taunton on final appearance of last season and he's probably worth taking on back from a 7-month absence.

Bumper winner who left hurdles debut form well behind when easily landing a Doncaster novice in February 2024. Positives to glean from first run over fences at Newbury at the start of this year, but pulled up at Wetherby next time and it's probably best to look elsewhere this time.
