Littler Stand Above the Rest
A quarter-final loss to Jonny Clayton on night four of the Premier League was a rare setback for Littler. He’s already won the World Championship and World Masters in 2026 along with successes in Poland and Saudi Arabia.
His dominance was on full show in last year’s UK Open, with Krzysztof Ratajski being the only opponent managing to finish with even a halfway competitive scoreline.
Patchy form in the Premier League is the only real chink in Littler’s armour in 2026. He’s struggled in Premier League play with a 1-4 record thus far, but he’s been almost unbeatable in other events.
Clayton’s Hot Run
At the opposite end of the spectrum, Clayton has been scorching hot in the Premier League. He has a 6-3 record with the highest checkout percentage and the most legs won against the throw.
Second round and quarter-final exits at the World Masters and World Championship, respectively, won’t inspire much confidence from bettors, but Clayton has repeatedly shown he can beat the best players in the world in the Premier League.
Van Veen’s Chances
It was a little surprising to see Gian van Veen at 11/1. He’s got a considerably longer price than Luke Humphries, who fell in the quarterfinals of the World Championship and has a 2-4 record in the Premier League.
Van Veen is second in the Premier League standings at the time of writing. He’s made three finals in the Premier League and reached the final of the World Championship - competing to a high standard in the biggest darts tournaments around.
Significantly, the Dutchman has beaten both Humphries and Littler in the Premier League this season. There’s value backing him at 11/1.
