With third place likely enough to qualify, DR Congo are being too often overlooked when people are making sports betting picks for the 2026 World Cup.

This team has some serious scalps over the last couple of years, and the squad is far more talented than some might recognise. While paired up with Portugal, Colombia and Uzbekistan, DR Congo could spring a shock and a place in the knockout stages isn't beyond the realms of possibility.

What is the average salary for DR Congo players?

The average salary for DR Congo players at the 2026 World Cup is around £20,000 per week. Some players are on several times this amount, but others are on less than £10,000 per week.

Evaluating player salaries is as much about the league they play in as it is on player ability. The highest salaries are generally found in Europe’s top five leagues and Saudi Arabia. More talented players can earn significantly less if they’re in a lesser league.

Who are the top earning players for DR Congo?

Yoane Wissa and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are the two highest-earning DR Congo players. On £140,000 and £90,000 per week, respectively, Wissa and Wan-Bissaka aren’t even among the highest-paid players in the Premier League, but they are far more than many of their teammates.

On around £45,000 per week, Cédric Bakambu is also handsomely compensated for his efforts at Real Betis. Bakambu also earned big bucks during his time in China with Beijing Guoan.

How much does the DR Congo manager earn?

Sébastien Desabre earns around £400,000 per year. Given that multiple World Cup managers are on several million per year, Desabre ranks among the lower paid managers at this summer’s tournament.

The Valence native guided DR Congo to wins over Nigeria and Cameroon to book their first World Cup berth since 1974.
