Senegal’s World Cup squad features some post-peak stars and a handful of ascending talents.

In a tricky group with France, Norway and Iraq, the Lions of Teranga aren’t fancied in the sports betting markets, but they are more than capable of finishing in the top two with the group they are taking to this summer’s tournament.

What is the average salary for Senegal players?

The average salary of Senegal’s 2026 World Cup squad is around £35,000. Senegal have several players at big clubs, who will inevitably be commanding large wages, but they also have players like Mory Diaw, Assane Diao, and Cherif Ndiaye that are likely to be on less than £20,000 per week.

There’s inevitably an element of estimation when figuring out the average salary of Senegal’s World Cup squad. Salary figures aren’t available for every member of the 26-man squad.

Who are the top earning players for Senegal?

Sadio Mané is one of the highest-paid players in world football, with a weekly salary of more than £500,000.

Edouard Mendy, who is also playing in the Saudi Pro League, is the third-highest earner in Senegal’s squad with a salary just shy of £200,000 per week.

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson is on more than £130,000 per week. Former Chelsea man Kalidou Koulibaly sits just behind Mané on a weekly wage of more than £400,000.

How much does the Senegal manager earn?

Pape Thiaw is reportedly on an annual salary of around £800,000. Thiaw was one of the 10 highest-paid coaches in the most recent edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, which saw Senegal controversially named runners-up.

The former forward scored five goals in 16 caps for Senegal between 2001 and 2003.
