• Rory McIlroy is one of the biggest names in golf

  • With an estimated net worth of £110 million, McIlroy has made a hefty living from the sport

  • McIlroy has won almost everything there is to win – contributing to his huge career earnings figure

Rory McIlroy has been one of the most prominent figures in golf since announcing himself on the big stage back in 2010.

The Northern Irishman tied for third at The Open Championship at St Andrews with another top three finish in the PGA Championship and hasn’t looked back since.

Known by betting fans around the world, McIlroy has consistently competed for major honours in the sport for the past decade.

While his game has dropped off slightly over the past 18 months, McIlroy was ranked as the number one player in the world for 106 weeks during his heyday.

As well as four major titles and 20 PGA Tour triumphs, McIlroy has built up a lucrative bank balance from his exploits on the golf course.

Popular in golf odds for almost every competition, McIlroy remains in the elite bracket of players in the official golf world rankings and remains a force to be reckoned with.

Here, we look at Rory McIlroy net worth figures and career earnings – just how does his total wealth compare to that of golf giants Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson?

Rory McIlroy Estimated Wealth

According to estimates obtained from golf app company Deemples, Rory McIlroy has a net worth of approximately £110 million.

Having played golf professionally for over 10 years, it should come as no surprise to see this kind of figure relating to Rory McIlroy’s wealth.

Most of the McIlroy’s net worth has come from endorsement deals, with reports claiming his colossal agreement with Nike to be worth approximately £170 million.

Nike opted to sign McIlroy to replace Tiger Woods as their face of golf back in the day and he has donned the famous tick on his golfing attire ever since.

McIlroy has a breath-taking house, stunning car and has been pictured wearing some of the biggest fashion brands on the planet. If you’re good at golf, it pays extremely well.

Rory McIlroy Career Earnings

The official PGA Tour career money leaders page has McIlroy as the sixth highest earning player of all-time - though many choose to overlook these standings due to their exclusion of FedEx Cup events.

Ranking third on the career money list in the history of golf, McIlroy finds himself as part of an elite trio. Only Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods have earned more prize money.

Excluding the FedEx Cup tournaments, McIlroy has bagged approximately £50 million. This is a staggering sum of money that shows just how lucrative golf can be.

He has a way to go to eclipse Tiger Woods career earnings but McIlroy is likely to be around for years to come and a return to his best form will see his prize money soar once again.

In 2019, McIlroy scooped his biggest pay day in golf as he won the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup to secure a cool £11 million cheque to boost the bank balance.

Rory McIlroy Major Titles

As of October 2021, Rory McIlroy has won four major titles – the first of which came at the US Open in 2011 while his most recent triumph was at the 2014 PGA Championship.

During this period, McIlroy was almost unstoppable. He topped the golf world rankings for over two years at one point, dominating PGA Tour events on a regular basis.

McIlroy blitzed the US Open field in 2011 to finish eight shots clear of Jason Day. It was a dominant performance, with the Northern Irishman breaking 11 records en route to victory.

His first PGA Championship triumph came 12 months later, with McIlroy once again finishing miles clear of the field.

Two years later, McIlroy doubled his tally of major titles with two victories in the space of two weeks.

A first Open Championship crown came first before his second PGA title followed to cap off a glorious summer for the world number one.

The US Masters continues to elude his grasp though and that is the one event standing in the way of McIlroy and a career Grand Slam.

Despite his shortcomings at Augusta National in the past, he will be popular in golf betting tips for the event come April.

Rory McIlroy Wife

Rory McIlroy is married to Erica Stoll. The couple lead a low profile and private life away from the sport but reports claim that the pair met back in 2012.

Stoll was born and raised in New York but moved with her family to Florida during her teenage years.

A former employee of the PGA of America, Stoll was employed as the Manager of the Championship Volunteer Operations.

After McIlroy’s split with tennis star Caroline Wozniacki, he began dating Stoll in 2014 before the couple announced their engagement after a trip to Paris in 2015.

In 2017, Stoll and McIlroy tied the knot in County Mayo, Ireland. The couple try to stay out of the limelight but appear very happy, especially since giving birth to daughter Poppy.

Rory McIlroy Children

Rory McIlroy became a father for the first time in September 2020 as wife Erica gave birth to daughter Poppy.

While McIlroy has often kept his family out of the spotlight, there were emotional scenes at Quail Hollow in May as he clinched the Wells Fargo Championship – his first victory as a father.

Television cameras focused on images of McIlroy, wife Erica and baby Poppy as the family celebrated the success and it would appear as though he has taken fatherhood in his stride.

Speaking after the success, McIlroy said: “Yeah, really cool. For it to be Erica’s first Mother’s Day and for her to be here with Poppy, really, really cool.

“It was hard for me not to think of that coming down the last few holes and how cool that would be to see them at the back of the 18th green.

“Really cool for them to be here and to be able to celebrate today.”

As McIlroy continues to hunt that elusive Masters Green Jacket, could we see the Northern Irishman add another child to his family in the coming years?
