Jumping is often an issue but he has a fine record at this track and capitalised on a reduced mark to notch a fourth course success in a 6-runner handicap at this C&D 4 weeks ago. Runner-up there has scored since and he should go well again from 4 lb higher if he can produce a clean round.

Yet to get his head in front but has finished runner-up on 3 of his last 6 starts, fitted with a first-time visor when chasing home an unexposed sort at Plumpton last month. Irresolute nature means he's a ropey proposition for win purposes but he holds frame claims again in a thin race.

Winning Irish pointer but no promise so far under Rules, jumping sketchily before pulling up in novice hurdle here when last seen in January (also reportedly struck into). No surprise if he fares better now chasing, though.

Made the frame on his last 2 starts in Irish points, but didn't offer much in varied events over hurdles and, in first-time cheekpieces, fared no better sent chasing when pulled up in 3m handicap at Exeter last month.

Improved when beating a weak field to win a novice handicap chase at Ludlow in November and produced his best effort since when runner-up in 2m handicap chase at Hereford last month. Suspect jumping remains a concern, though.

Unseated early on chase debut but made amends second time up over fences, surpassing his hurdles form to win in the mud at Bangor (17.4f) in February. Laboured effort under less testing conditions at Hereford since, though, and looks worth a try over this longer trip.

Poor hurdler missed almost 2 years prior to returning for new yard (formerly trained by Simon Earle) at Chepstow in February and was found to have bled at Wetherby last month. Opposable now chasing.

Showed improved form when runner-up in a Stratford handicap hurdle last March but has gone with no fluency when pulled up in 2 handicap chases at Huntingdon this season.

Pulled up sole outing for Nicky Henderson and fared little better in 3 starts over hurdles/fences for Alison Thorpe. Soundly beaten on both starts for current trainer and first-time cheekpieces need to have transformative impact.

Winning hurdler for Olly Murphy and though he's clearly not anywhere near the force of old following several long-term absences, he shaped a bit better than the bare result under an overly-aggressive ride from this amateur at Exeter (3m) last month. Far from certain to build on that, though.

Modest hurdler at best for Alan King but lost her way last season and has fared no better in 5 starts for current trainer. Hard to fancy on chase debut.
