Annsam

Although ANNSAM has failed to complete on both starts since his course win in December it wasn't his fault last time (hampered and unseated) and he's taken to add to his 2023 success in this same contest. Your Darling's tendency to find little off the bridle means he isn't one for maximum faith but he has plenty of class for this grade and is taken to fill the forecast spot.

Career best when winning 3m Kempton handicap last winter. Also a creditable third at last year's Punchestown Festival but he's struggled over fences since, although he probably did too much too soon when fifth over C&D last time.

Often finds less than looks likely but is a 4-time winner over fences. Absent 18 months prior to this season but has shown he retains all his ability when placed over 3m at Kempton and Ascot in recent months.

Back-to-back chase winner Iast season but has found it tougher this time round, including never a threat when sixth at Musselburgh last time in a race which he won in 2025. Being eased another 2 lb can only help but others arrive with more pressing claims.

Hasn't added to last season's Chepstow chase debut success in 9 subsequent starts but placed on several occasions, including at Wincanton in January. Ran a moody race when pulled up at Doncaster since, though. Visor worn last twice is now left off and replaced by his more regular cheekpieces.

Very useful chaser at his best and on a going day when scoring in good style over slightly further here in December. Has failed to complete on both starts since (through no fault of his own last time). Continues to look well treated on that winning form.

Four-time scorer over fences during his time with Henry Daly but pulled up on his final start for that trainer at Hexham in November and tailed off at Huntingdon starting out for Sarah Humphrey after breathing operation/in first-time tongue strap recently.
