Royal Rhyme

ROYAL RHYME has clearly had his fair share of issues to not have been seen since last May, but Karl Burke's 6-y-o is the class act in this field, so he gets the nod to come out on top. Twain has an even longer absence to overcome but he falls firmly into the 'could be anything' category, while Beset and Red Letter are another couple who may also have a say in what looks a fascinating renewal of this Group 3.

Wootton Bassett colt who went from winning a Leopardstown maiden on his debut at 28/1 to becoming a Group 1 winner in little more than a week when landing Criterium International at Saint-Cloud back in October 2024. Clearly been hard to get him to the track since but is open to further progress.

Smart horse who was seen only twice in 2025, his failure to keep straight under pressure not helping matters when fifth of 9 to Los Angeles in Tattersalls Gold Cup here last May. Presumably had his issues, but this English-raider could take some stopping if back on song.

Useful mare who was very much on the up at the end of 2025, signing off with dominant success in 1½m listed race here in November. Picked up where she left off when landing listed event at Naas last month, showing a really good attitude when joined, and she can make her presence felt here.

Doubled her tally when landing listed event at Killarney last July and took her form up a level when winning Group 3 Snow Fairy Stakes at this course the following month. Respectable effort but unable to land the odds in Blandford Stakes over C&D in September and has been off since.

Better than ever when doubling his tally for the season over C&D last June but failed to fire twice at Leopardstown following a mid-season break last autumn. No seen since and the likelihood is he will need this outing.

Took his form up a notch when landing a 9f Leopardstown Group 3 last June. Ran about as well as could be expected when back at Group 1 level for the Irish Derby later that month and hasn't been seen since finishing mid-field in York Stakes in July. Considered on return.

Smart handicap performance to win over 11f at Listowel last September. Disappointing in a 1½m listed race here on final start but shaped encouragingly returning from a 5-month absence when fifth of 18 in handicap over C&D (heavy) recently, too keen to see his race out. Others more appealing.

Ran a cracker when 1½ lengths second of 25 to Ribee in Irish Lincolnshire here (1m, heavy) on reappearance but disappointed over C&D next time, hard to blame the return to the longer trip. Bounce back needed.

Won twice on turf last season and ended his campaign with an improved effort when third of 13 to Phantom Flight in Diamond Stakes on all-weather debut at Dundalk in September. Another notch of improvement required if he's to take this on return (has been gelded).

Bred to be useful and overcame inexperience to win 14-runner maiden (11/10) at Dundalk (10.7f) on debut last September. Out of depth hiked up to listed level at Leopardstown the following month which tempers enthusiasm somewhat on reappearance.

Progressive filly who proved strong at the finish when winning a Dundalk conditions race before following up with something in hand in a 1m handicap there in February. Raced closer to the pace than ideal in her hat-trick bid at Newcastle recently and faces a stiff task in this.
