• Robbie Fowler is a former Liverpool and England striker turned manager

  • Fowler’s net worth has been reported to be roughly £31 million

  • Read below for more on Fowler’s career and life so far

When it comes to Premier League Odds, not many strikers have been as prolific as Robbie Fowler. Despite growing up an Everton fan, Fowler was adored at Anfield.

A member of the Premier League 100 club, and eighth all-time in Premier League goals, Fowler was not just a lethal finisher.

In his pomp, he was a masterful technician, a pure talent capable of the brilliant alongside a knack for making the basics look so easy.

While he hasn’t been an option in a football bet for almost a decade, Fowler has been trying his hand at management alongside his interests away from the sport. Let’s dive deeper into the life of the Toxteth-born striker.

Net Worth

Robbie Fowler’s net worth is estimated to be around £31 million. Featuring in the 2005 Sunday Time Rich List, Fowler might have spent many years in the Premier League, but earnings were a long way short of what we’re used to in the 2020s.

While his playing salaries will have been pretty substantial, the man known as ‘God’ at Anfield actually made most of his money through the property market.

Far from the upmarket investments usually associated with wealthy athletes, Fowler invested heavily in the buy-to-let market. He started out in his teenage days after an important meeting with then Liverpool Graeme Souness.

In quotes reported by The Daily Mirror in 2015, Fowler explained the meeting with Souness, “’This is a financial adviser. He will look after you for the rest of your life’. That was by far the smartest thing I did”.

“As a young kid, I wasn’t really interested at that stage – getting financial advice was far from my mind. I was focused on playing football. But I got onboard with this financial adviser, and I heeded his advice, and that was my smartest money decision.

“Don’t get me wrong, not everything went into property at the time. And I didn’t just invest on my own, because when I was 18, I was on next to nothing and I couldn’t afford it, regardless of what people think about football players.

“I invested with partners. It was all through the advice I was given, not because I knew anything or wanted to know it, it was totally by accident.

“When you’re 18, I think it is probably the last thing on your mind. You’re obviously signing new contracts and you want to go out, you probably want a new car, and you’ll get all the things that you haven’t had.

“But then all of a sudden, there comes a time when you think: Uh, I need to pull the reins in a little bit here and maybe look after my life after football. When I was 18, that was far from my mind, but over the years, it does materialise that way.”

Fowler isn’t the only former Liverpool striker to amass a net worth in the £30 million range. Michael Owen’s figure is pretty close to Fowler’s, while their former teammate Steven Gerrard is up at £67 million according to Goal.

Wife

Robbie Fowler is married to Kerrie Fowler. The couple tied the knot in 2001, and they have four children together. Kerrie has a key role in the management of Fowler’s property empire.

In a 2015 interview with The Guardian, the former Liverpool striker said, “Since then, and I’m not embarrassed to admit this, it’s my wife who’s the one who has been wearing the trousers.

"She’s the boss. She did it all while I was playing. Basically I go out and earn the money. She’s happy with that concept.”

Former Clubs

Obviously best remembered for his two stints with Liverpool, Robbie Fowler represented eight clubs throughout his playing career.

Others from Premier League predictions included Leeds and Manchester City, while he later starred in Australia and Thailand.

His best performances were during that first spell in front of the Kop. The tenure came to an emotional end in 2001, however, with Fowler feeling then manager Gerard Houllier had forced him out of the club.

Injuries and poor form limited Fowler’s impact over the following years, though he returned to Liverpool in 2006 and received a true hero’s send off from the club.

  • Liverpool (1993-2001) – 330 appearances, 171 goals

  • Leeds United (2001-2003) – 33 appearances, 14 goals

  • Manchester City (2003-2006) – 92 appearances, 28 goals

  • Liverpool (2006-2007) – 39 appearances, 12 goals

  • Cardiff City (2007-2008) – 16 appearances, six goals

  • Blackburn Rovers (2008) – six appearances, zero goals

  • Northern Queensland Fury (2009-2010) – 26 appearances, nine goals

  • Perth Glory (2010-2011) – 28 appearances, nine goals

  • Muangthong United (2011-2012)  - 20 appearances, four goals

East Bengal

Robbie Fowler was named as manager of East Bengal in October 2020. He left the club by mutual consent in September 2021, after his team won just three of the 20 league matches he was in charge of.

This was the former England international’s third match in management following spells with Muangthong United and Brisbane Roar.

Nickname

Robbie Fowler earned the ‘God’ nickname from Liverpool fans. According to his autobiography, this began to stick following a hat-trick in less than five minutes against Arsenal in 1994-95.

Speaking to Sky Sports after that match, Fowler said, “I was knackered at one stage. I just had three chances and the three of them just seemed to go in.”

Still Liverpool’s top scorer in the Premier League, Fowler will forever be known as ‘God’ in the red half of Merseyside.

Everton Fan

Just like Jamie Carragher, Ian Rush, Michael Owen and other Liverpool icons, Robbie Fowler actually grew up an Everton fan before representing the Anfield outfit.

Of course, Fowler’s allegiances switched when he began representing one of the most successful football clubs in England.

  • Former England and Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart is currently playing for Celtic

  • Hart has a net worth just over £20 million according to various sources

  • Read below for more on the shot stopper’s career to date

Joe Hart made the journey from the depths of the Football League to the top of English football.

Becoming number one for the Three Lions and starring as Manchester City won Premier League titles, Hart was a goalkeeper who could swing football odds in his pomp with highlight reel saves.

Where ‘keepers can often extend their careers, Hart’s peak was short-lived.

He’s still plying his trade at one of the biggest clubs in the UK, though, so let’s learn a bit more about the two-time Premier League winner.

Salary

Joe Hart’s salary has been in the news a lot over the years. Departing the home of Premier League Odds to join Celtic meant another wage cut for the former England international.

Bet Calculator

While largely a non-factor in Premier League predictions during his stint at Tottenham, Hart was reported to be on £27,000 per week.

News around the time of Hart’s 2021 summer transfer to Celtic claimed this salary had been almost cut in half to £15,000.

Sure, not many people are going to be thrilled about a pay cut of that size, but that still leaves Hart earning almost £800,000 per year.

It’s a lot less than he’s used to, though, having reportedly been paid over £7 million per annum at Manchester City. Such an enormous salary meant City had to supplement his wages to force through the transfer to West Ham.

The decline in Hart’s salaries represents his demise from top of the pile of England goalkeepers to a backup at Tottenham.

Providing the £15,000 figure is correct, there are 37 Premier League goalkeepers earning more than the Shrewsbury-born stopper in 2021-22.

Newcastle’s Mark Gillespie, Aston Villa’s Jed Steer and West Brom’s David Button are three of a small group of Premier League ‘keepers earning less than Hart this season.

Net Worth

Joe Hart has a net worth of roughly £21 million according to celebritynetworth.com.

Playing for Manchester City tends to be a monumental boost to any player’s wealth, and Hart has been reported to have large wages at several of his stops since then.

There was a period when he looked set to become one of the greatest Premier League goalkeepers. England’s number one and playing a key role in Manchester City’s success, Hart was incredibly marketable.

The Head & Shoulders partnership was, of course, the most famous of his endorsements.

This deal, signed in 2012, is one of the stranger footballer sponsorship deals, but reports at the time claimed Hart pocketed plenty of cash for the anti-dandruff shampoo adverts.

Further marketing opportunities followed for Hart, enabling his net worth to soar during his peak years for Manchester City and England.

Wife

Joe Hart’s wife is Kimberly Crew. The couple got married in Florence back in 2015 and they have a son together.

They have now been together for over a decade, having dated for six years before getting married.

While other couples in their position relish the spotlight, Crew has opted to remain private, and little is known about her life.

Tattoo

Joe Hart’s tattoo choices have divided opinion. Initially starting with a band round is forearm and a small black banner around his wrist, Hart has since added ‘armour’ further up his arm and over his shoulder.

The tattoo form is referred to as ‘blackwork’ which Hart also has on his leg.

The artist of these tattoos is Hanumatra Lemar, and he explains what these tattoos represent on his website.

"Blackwork is a tattoo choice, it's a lifestyle and it's a philosophy, believing that less really is more and understanding that we should not be afraid to stand out in world full of people trying to fit in.

"Every tattoo Hanumantra undertakes is exclusively created for the client. The time is taken to handcraft each individual design, conveying and amplifying the inner strength of spirit of the wearer.

"This allows them to feel empowered and protected as though a layer of tattoo armour is placed upon them, creating a modern day warrior ready for today's battles."

When revealing the tattoos on his Instagram account, Hart described them as something that ‘represents me’.

He posted, "I got my armour on now... let's see what's next. Not everyone's taste I understand that but this definitely represents me and thank you for making it happen."

Former Clubs

Joe Hart has represented 10 clubs so far. Starting out at his hometown team Shrewsbury, Hart made the big move to Manchester City in 2006, though a few loans followed before he broke through.

Over a decade on the books of the Sky Blues came to an end in 2018 with a £3.5 million transfer to Burnley.

Hart made a few appearances due to injuries, but he never became first choice. A season at Tottenham followed as a depth option behind World Cup winning goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

In the summer of 2021, Nuno Espirito Santo decided Hart was surplus to requirements, and brutally told the former West Ham man that he wasn’t going to play for the club.

In an interview with Micah Richards, Hart explained the conversation with Nuno that led to his Tottenham departure.

He said, “And then, two or three weeks into pre-season, I was told: ‘No matter what happens, you will not kick a ball for Tottenham.’

“That’s what Nuno (Espirito Santo) wanted. I never really had a conversation with him and the one conversation that we did have was that one.”

  • Shrewsbury Town (2003-2006) – 58 appearances

  • Manchester City (2006-2018) – 348 appearances

  • Tranmere Rovers (loan - 2007) – six appearances

  • Blackpool (loan - 2007) – five appearances

  • Birmingham City (loan - 2009-2010) – 41 appearances

  • Torino (loan - 2016-2017) – 37 appearances

  • West Ham (loan - 2017-18) – 23 appearances

  • Burnley (2018-20) – 24 appearances

  • Tottenham (2020-2021) – 10 appearances

  • Celtic (2021-present) – 21 appearances

Honours

  • Premier League – 2011-12, 2013-14

  • FA Cup – 2010-11

  • League Cup – 2013-14, 2015-16

  • Four-time Premier League Golden Glove winner

  • PFA Team of the Year: 2005-06 League Two, 2009-10 Premier League, 2011-12 Premier League
