The 2018/19 Premier League season is here! Manchester United will host Leicester City in the curtain raiser on Friday night and plenty of punters will be siding with Jose Mourinho’s men as they look to challenge for the title.

The Red Devils may find it tough going at Old Trafford on Friday evening though – fans are disappointed at the lack of transfer activity and United could struggle in the absence of their World Cup stars. Check out our tips on the televised action below

MANCHESTER UNITED vs LEICESTER CITY

Mourinho’s side are odds on favourites to secure three points in the opener on Friday night and it would take a brave man to back against the Red Devils despite their disrupted build-up.

United finished second in the table last season and plenty of punters will be backing the Red Devils to lift the Premier League title at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Leicester will be looking to improve on their efforts in 2017/18 and the Foxes will take some stopping.

Claude Puel’s side are primed to enjoy a successful campaign and a positive result here will set the tone for the rest of the season. This one could be a bit of a damp squib...

Under 2.5 goals is worth considering here but I prefer the “no” for both teams to score. 7/10 is a decent price for the selection to land at Old Trafford on Friday night.

TIP: Both teams to score – NO @ 7/10

PREDICTED SCORE: Man United 1-0 Leicester (Priced at 5/1 with 888sport)

NEWCASTLE UNITED vs TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

Newcastle fans will head into this contest with hope rather than expectation.

After another frustrating summer of little transfer activity, Magpies supporters are angry with owner Mike Ashley – and his acquisition of House of Frazer on Friday morning will not sit well with the St James’ Park faithful.

The visitors were absent in the transfer window this summer; Spurs made no changes to their squad whatsoever.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will expect to finish in the top four once again in 2018/19 but this will not be a straightforward fixture. Tottenham may settle for a point in the north east on Saturday afternoon.

Newcastle are solid enough on home soil and 4/5 is a solid enough bet for both teams to score here. Spurs will have the lion’s share of possession but the hosts should have enough to avoid defeat.

TIP: Both teams to score – YES @ 4/5

PREDICTED SCORE: Newcastle 1-1 Tottenham (Priced at 27/5 with 888sport)

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS vs EVERTON

Wolves could be the standout promoted club this campaign – the 2017/18 Championship winners were on another level last season.

Active in the transfer market this summer, they have recruited impressively and 13/10 is an excellent price considering the talent in their squad.

It has been all change at Everton and Marco Silva will need time to adjust to life at Goodison Park. The Toffees have enough class to secure a seventh placed finish but consistency is still a huge issue.

Everton may struggle to keep tabs on this fluent Wolves attack if the hosts are at their brilliant best.

Newly promoted clubs tend to shine in the opening stages of the season and Wolves could be set to snatch three points here. The Molineux faithful will be expecting a huge season on their return to the top flight…

TIP: Wolves to win @ 13/10

PREDICTED SCORE: Wolves 2-0 Everton (Priced at 9/1 with 888sport)
