• The Vince Lombardi Trophy is valued at just over $10,000

  • There are 12 NFL teams who have yet to lift the Super Bowl trophy

  • Tiffany & Co have been making the Vince Lombardi Trophy since 1967

The Vince Lombardi Trophy is awarded to the winning team at the Super Bowl each year, with a new trophy created by Tiffany & Co ahead of the NFL showpiece contest.

Named after the late Vince Lombardi before Super Bowl V, the trophy is a regulation-sized silver football that is mounted in a kicking position on a pyramid stand.

Vince Lombardi Trophy Guide:

Standing at 22 inches tall and weighing 3 kg, the Vince Lombardi Trophy is a spectacular sight and it is one of the most recognisable awards in all of sport.

If you’re into American football odds and NFL betting, you’ll know all about the Super Bowl but how much do you know about the Vince Lombardi Trophy?

Hopefully after reading this, your Super Bowl trophy knowledge will be significantly greater than before. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s get down to business!

Vince Lombardi Trophy Design:

The Vince Lombardi Trophy is unique in shape and size – and there is an interesting story as to how the award was designed.

Back in 1966, NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle made the decision to find a trophy for the first ever AFL-NFL Championship contest.

For some reason, Rozelle got in touch with Tiffany & Co. The famous jewellery store was certainly an odd choice to say the least...

They brought in their chief designer who, with limited football knowledge, bought a football and he came up with a design involving a finished box of Cornflakes.

Tiffany’s took the idea to Rozelle, with Riedener allegedly drawing a sketch of the design on a cocktail napkin.

The NFL Commissioner was obviously impressed as the design was sanctioned and the Super Bowl trophy is still based on the original Lombardi Trophy 55 years later.

How Is The Vince Lombardi Trophy Made?

Punters will be well aware of Super Bowl betting markets but do you know how the Vince Lombardi Trophy is created?

According to various sources, it takes Tiffany & Co around four months to mould, shape and then carve the sterling silver trophy. It certainly cannot be done overnight…

Created in their workshop, expert silversmiths and metal spinners use four distinct techniques to make the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Hand soldering, spinning, chasing and polishing the metal are crucial components of the trophy-making process, with the sterling silver melted at over 500 degrees Celsius in order to shape the award.

Vince Lombardi Trophy Worth:

While estimates value the Vince Lombardi Trophy at around $10,000, the actual value of the silver used to create the trophy is around $2,900.

After the Super Bowl trophy presentation is complete, the winning team send the trophy back to Tiffany & Co who then clean and engrave the award each year.

The Vince Lombardi Trophy value is then worthless to other teams but is the greatest award in sport for the winning franchise – you don’t need to be an NFL betting tips expert to know that.

Vince Lombardi Trophy Facts:

Winning the National Football League’s top prize is no easy feat – only a small percentage of players will be lucky enough to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Here, we’ve come up with some of the most important Super Bowl trophy facts. It is worth taking some of these into account when betting on the NFL:

  • The Vince Lombardi Trophy design DID start with a sketch.

  • The Green Bay Packers were the first team to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy, with the team also claiming Super Bowl success the following year.

  • Teams DO get to keep the Vince Lombardi Trophy. In other major American sports, that isn’t usually the case – take ice hockey’s Stanley Cup for example.

  • The trophy awarded to the Baltimore Colts at Super Bowl V in 1971 ended up moving with owner Carroll Rosenbloom after he purchased the Rams. The Super Bowl trophy went missing and Rozelle decided that a Vince Lombardi replica should be made. That replica is now located in the Sports Legends Museum in Baltimore.

  • The trophy is complete for every victory ceremony with ‘Vince Lombardi Trophy’ and the NFL shield, with the trophy returning to Tiffany’s where it is engraved.

  • Tiffany & Co also craft the trophy awarded to the Super Bowl MVP – which is named after legendary NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle.

  • The New England Patriots, involved in one of the highest scoring Super Bowl games of all-time, and Pittsburgh Steelers have won the Vince Lombardi Trophy a joint-record six times.

  • 12 teams have yet to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy – much to the dismay of loyal NFL fans of those organisations.

  • Royal Challengers Bangalore have the two highest teams scores in IPL history

  • There have been 25 IPL team scores of 220 or more

  • There were five scores of 200 or more in the 2020 IPL season

Premier cricket betting names gather in India every season for the Indian Premier League. Once a controversial endeavour, the IPL has become a fixture in the cricketing calendar. It is the most lucrative gig for any cricketer.

Up there with the World Cups and the Ashes, the IPL is a massive sports betting feast. Games come thick and fast during the packed group stages and the knockout matches in front of packed crowds are as tense as cricket gets.

IPL Highest Scores:

  1. Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Pune Warriors, 263-5

  2. Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Gujarat Lions, 248-3

  3. Chennai Super Kings vs Rajasthan Royals, 246-5

  4. Kolkata Knight Riders vs Kings XI Punjab, 245-6

  5. Chennai Super Kings vs Kings XI Punjab, 240-5

  6. Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Mumbai Indians, 235-1

  7. Kings XI Punjab vs Royal Challengers Bangalore, 232-2

  8. Kolkata Knight Riders vs Mumbai Indians, 232-2

  9. Delhi Daredevils vs Kings XI Punjab, 231-4

  10. Kings XI Punjab vs Chennai Super Kings, 231-4

It isn’t all about the big shots and electric scoring in the IPL. The best teams will have bowlers who can control the rate throughout, but the most explosive batting displays are our focus in this article.

Let’s delve into the IPL records for a look back at the 10 highest team scores in tournament history.

10) Kings XI Punjab - 231/4

Kings XI Punjab didn’t look set for a massive total when they faced the Chennai Super Kings in May 2014. Virender Sehwag and Mandeep Singh opened up and combined for just 33 runs off 31 balls.

The onslaught came from the overseas middle order. Glenn Maxwell crushed eight sixes on his way to 90 off just 38 balls, while David Miller played a comparative anchor role for his 47.

George Bailey’s 40 off 13 balls was spectacular, with eight of his 13 deliveries reaching the fence. No Chennai bowler had an economy under nine, and Ravichandran Ashwin went for 38 off two overs.

9) Delhi Daredevils - 231/4

The Delhi Daredevils only won by 21 runs even after a demolition of Kings XI Punjab in 2011. David Warner and Virender Sehwag was one of the most fearsome opening partnerships in the history of the game – the pair scored 77 each in this massive total.

Late innings cameos put the cherry on top. Warner and Sehwag set the Daredevils up with a 146-run opening partnership, which remains one of the biggest opening partnerships ever.

8) Kolkata Knight Riders - 232/2

The most recent innings to feature on this list, the Kolkata Knight Riders put the Mumbai Indians to the sword in 2019. Even an attack featuring Lasith Malinga and Jasprit Bumrah could not contain KKR.

Shubman Gill and Chris Lynn got the Knight Riders off to a flyer. Gill’s 76 off 45 and Lynn’s 54 off 29 was only the crowd-warming act for Andre Russell’s showstopper, though.

Russell faced only 40 balls for his 80 runs and hit eight of them over the fence.

7) Kings XI Punjab - 232/2

Kings XI won this match by 111 runs. It’s one of the biggest wins in IPL history, and it was mainly down to Adam Gilchrist.

The Aussie wicketkeeper tonked 106 off 55 balls, clearing the rope nine times. Shaun Marsh helped out with 79 off 49 as every RCB bowler went the distance.

At the time, it was the second-highest score in IPL history.

6) Royal Challengers Bangalore - 235/1

The Mumbai Indians might be the most successful team in IPL history, but they were on the end of an absolute drubbing back in 2015 as Royal Challengers Bangalore racked up 235 for the loss of just one wicket.

Mumbai must’ve felt optimistic when Chris Gayle fell for 13 off 12.

What followed from Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers was, at the time, the biggest partnership in the history of the tournament, a record only broken when the same pair went even bigger in 2016.

5) Chennai Super Kings - 240/5

Where other mammoth totals are built around partnerships and multiple 50+ scores, this effort from Chennai was all about Michael Hussey.

There was minimal help from Matthew Hayden, MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina. Mr Cricket took it upon himself to dominate – his 116 off 54 balls set Kings XI an unchaseable total back in 2008.

4) Kolkata Knight Riders - 245/6

Sunil Narine and Chris Lynn got KKR off to a flyer. Narine was dismissed in the 12th over with 75 off 36 balls, and the carnage continued.

Middle order striking from Andre Russell and Dinesh Karthik saw the Knight Riders keep up the pace throughout their innings. Ravichandran Ashwin and Barinder Sran took a particular beating, going for 84 off their combined 5.4 overs.

3) Chennai Super Kings - 246/5

This spectacular innings from Chennai was the highest IPL team total for three years. Murali Vijay was the leading force in this 2010 masterpiece – the opener dismantled the Rajasthan attack. His 11 sixes in the innings was a record.

Albie Morkel gave Vijay a helping hand. The South African went for 62 off 34 balls, as the Super Kings hit every Royals bowler around the park.

2) Royal Challengers Bangalore - 248/3

Once again it’s RCB, and once again it’s Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. They both scored centuries on this occasion, with de Villers’ 12 sixes in his 52-ball, 129 not out tying for the third-most ever.

The superstar duo put on 229. It’s the highest IPL partnership in the history of the competition, and a record it’s hard to imagine anyone breaking. Like their destructive display a year earlier, Chris Gayle disappointed, but they more than made up for his failure.

Ravindra Jadeja was the only Gujarat bowler with an economy under 11.

1) Royal Challengers Bangalore - 263/5

Going all the way back to 2013, RCB’s top four was even scarier. Gayle, de Villiers and Kohli were still there, and so was Tillakaratne Dilshan.

Kohli, Dilshan and de Villiers were relatively quiet here, though. It was Gayle, the world’s greatest ever T20 batsman, who did the damage.

The West Indian opener’s 175 is the highest individual score in IPL history. His 17 sixes are the most by a player in an innings, and by a considerable distance.

Gayle batted through for 175 off 66 balls, and the Warriors couldn’t even get close, falling to 133-9 off their 20 overs.

  • Tony ‘The Bomber’ Bellew finished his career with 30 wins in 34 professional fights

  • He is best known for his all-British rivalry with David Haye

  • Bellew is now one of the best boxing pundits on Sky Sports Boxing

888 stories

Now a household name in British boxing, Tony Bellew was one of the toughest fighters of his generation.

Anyone who enjoys betting on boxing knows all about Bellew’s heart and desire to succeed and the Liverpudlian climbed the boxing rankings – peaking with his WBC cruiserweight title.

How Much Is Tony Bellew Worth?

As well as boxing, Bellew is a passionate Everton supporter and he fulfilled a lifelong dream when he fought for the world title in front of a sold out Goodison Park.

Here, we discuss Tony Bellew net worth figures, as well as a broader look at his life in and out of the boxing ring.

Tony Bellew Net Worth

According to figures obtained by The Net Worth Portal, Tony Bellew is worth an estimated £9.6 million.

Bet Calculator

Reports suggest that Bellew made a tasty £2.8 million from his first fight with former world heavyweight champion David Haye – not bad for a night’s work…

With a number of lucrative endorsements during his career and sponsorship contracts, Bellew has managed to maintain a high level of income since his retirement.

While Bellew’s wealth figures cannot compare to Eddie Hearn net worth numbers, the Bomber has made a healthy living for himself in the ring and boxing commentary box.

Tony Bellew Wife

Tony Bellew has been married to Rachael Roberts since the summer of 2018, though the couple have known each other since they were nine years old.

Bellew and Roberts have four children together – all boys. What are the odds one of them grows up and follows in their father’s footsteps in the boxing ring?

Rachael is capable of holding her own against the five boys though and Bellew has admitted in the past that his wife rules the roost at home.

Tony Bellew vs David Haye

Two popular names in boxing betting tips throughout their careers, the Bellew vs Haye feud was one of the biggest in boxing.

While Haye suffered an ankle injury during the first bout, there were no such excuses in the rematch as Bellew clinched a fifth-round stoppage with a devastating performance.

Haye was gracious in defeat and Bellew was full of respect for his great rival – and both men can be seen working together on Sky Sports Boxing from time to time.

Tony Bellew Everton

If there’s one thing Bellew loves more than boxing and his family, it’s Everton Football Club. A lifelong Toffee, Bellew is one of the most famous Everton supporters.

Bellew has gone on record as stating the highlight of his career was fighting at Goodison Park – made even sweeter as he clinched the WBC cruiserweight title.

Often pictured at the Everton stadium, Bellew is a regular guest at the club and his impact and influence on the city of Liverpool has been heart-warming.

Tony Bellew Creed

Yes, that’s right – Tony Bellew is a film star! Okay, star may be a tad far fetched but Bellew made the step up to the big screen while appearing in the Rocky film Creed in 2015.

Playing the role of ‘Pretty’ Ricky Conlan, Bellew is a cocky British boxer who has recently become the world light heavyweight champion.

Bellew is the perfect fit for the role of Conlan but he is not the only boxing legend in the movie, with Andre Ward also earning a cameo role as Danny ‘Stuntman’ Wheeler.

Tony Bellew Height

Standing at 6 foot 3, Bellew was tall for a cruiserweight boxer – with the average height for that division coming in at around 6 foot 1.

Bellew stood out even more as a light heavyweight fighter, with the decision to go up in the boxing weight classes to cruiserweight making complete sense.

A fighter at 6 foot 3 will often struggle to maintain his weight at the cruiserweight limit so Bellew deserves great praise for his discipline on that front.

Tony Bellew Weight

It is hard to give an exact weight for any boxer but it is even tougher for a fighter like Tony Bellew.

With the Liverpudlian jumping between boxing weight classes, Bellew had to find more than one ideal fighting weight in order to optimise his skills in the ring.

Bellew came in at 213 lbs for his first fight against David Haye – a career high weight.

For his final fight against Oleksandr Usyk, Bellew hit his cruiserweight target weight for the first time in two years. The Bomber weighed in at just over 199 lbs for that bout.

Tony Bellew Twitter

Like many sportsmen, Bellew isn’t afraid to hold back with his views on all aspects of life. He can be found tweeting about boxing, politics and even golf!

While his opinions have landed him in hot water with followers in the past, it is refreshing to see Bellew stick to his guns and continue with his approach to social media.

You can follow Tony Bellew Twitter page here for the latest boxing updates, gossip and the odd reference to the political world.

Now on the verge of extending his exemplary to career record to a perfect twelve from twelve, we profile the horse that is the current horse racing betting favourite for this year’s Marsh Novices’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival 2021.

Humble Beginnings

Little did the attendees realise that on the opening day of the spring four-year-old season at Ballinaboola, Ireland, in February 2018, that the winner of the Arctic Tack Stud 4yo Maiden would go on to be a racing superstar.

Bought as a foal from France, the Walter Connors-owned gelding easily shrugged off the even-money favourite, Appreciate It, to score a resounding 10-lengths victory for trainer Colin Bowe and jockey Barry O’Neill.

Envoi Allen Career Record:

  • 02.12.18 - Fairyhouse: Envoi Allen was a four lengths winner on his Rules debut. Confidently ridden by Jamie Codd, the four year old quickened up well to overhaul Port Stanley.
  • 16.12.18 - Navan: Envoi Allen justified his 4-11 odds in some style by taking the Listed Future Champions Flat Race, beating the runner-up Midnight Run by almost five lengths.
  • 02.02.19 - Leopardstown: Gordon Elliott’s five-year-old found plenty for pressure in the Matheson (C&G) I.N.H. Flat Race to hold Meticulous by a length and quarter with Embittered back in third.
  • 13.03.19 - Cheltenham: Envoi Allen justified strong market support to win the Weatherbys Champion Bumper at odds of 2/1. He had too much left in the tank on the day for the fast-finishing Blue Sari.
  • 02.11.19 - Down Royal: Envoi Allen led throughout in his debut race over flights by taking the Tayto Group Maiden Hurdle under Davy Russell. A winning margin of six and a half lengths was recorded over Front View in second.
  • 01.12.19 - Fairyhouse: Envoi Allen maintained the perfect start to his career by beating his stablemate Abacadabras in the Royal Bond Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse. Sent off the 8-11 favourite, he pulled away to win by a length and a half in the end.
  • 05.01.20 - Naas: Stepping up in trip to two and a half miles for the first time, Envoi Allen put in a stylish display in the Lawlor’s Of Naas Novice Hurdle. Three and a half lengths was the winning margin over Elixir D’ainay.
  • 11.03.20 - Cheltenham: Envoi Allen showed us a supreme performance to land the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle at The Festival. The 4-7 favourite quickened impressively to score by four and a quarter lengths from his stablemate Easywork.
  • 30.10.20 - Down Royal: Envoi Allen produced a faultless round of jumping on his chasing debut at Down Royal, coming home victorious in the Advanced NI Scaffolding Beginners Chase.  Scoring by six lengths from January Jets, the six-year-old was never in any danger in the five-runner field.
  • 29.11.20 - Fairyhouse: Another Flawless exhibition in the Drinmore Novice Chase at Fairyhouse saw Envoi Allen reach the unbeaten 10/10 milestone. An eight-and-a-half length success over Assemble saw his reputation scale even dizzier heights.
  • 17.01.21 - Punchestown: Envoi Allen beat Joseph O’Brien’s Sempo by three lengths in the Grade 3 Killiney Novice Chase to make it 11 from 11 under rules and three from three over fences for the season.
  • 18.03.21 - Cheltenham: Envoi Allen lines up in the Marsh Novices’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival and is an 8/11 chance in our online betting.

How Much Did Envoi Allen Cost?

Envoi Allen cost Cheveley Park £400,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland Cheltenham February Sale after winning his initial point-to-point at Ballinaboola.

Where Is Envoi Allen Trained?

Envoi Allen is trained by Gordon Elliott at his Cullentra House Stables in Longwood Co. Meath, Ireland.

Envoi Allen Prize Money:

As of February 2021, Envoi Allen has amassed a total of £342,067 in prize money and is a 164-rated Chaser. He is a 160-rated hurdler.

£73,854 goes to the winning horse in the Marsh Novices’ Chase so that balance may well be going up considerably in the near future.

Who Is Envoi Allen’s Jockey?

Jamie Codd rode Envoi Allen to victory in all four of his NH bumper wins before Davy Russell jumped onboard for all four of his hurdling successes.

When Davy Russell became unavailable due to injury, Jack Kennedy got the leg up and has ridden him to his three chase wins thus far.

It was expected that Russell would be back to ride Envoi Allen at The Festival 2021, but unfortunately for him he isn’t quite 100% fit yet so Kennedy will keep the ride.

When Is Envoi Allen Running Next?

Gordon Elliott has entered him in the Marsh Novices’ Chase at the 2021 Cheltenham Festival on March 18th.

Who Are Envoi Allen’s Chief Dangers In The Marsh Novices’ Chase?

A whole host of entries have been lodged for the race but several well-backed contenders such as Energumene and Monkish are likely to target other races so you should keep up to date with all the latest Cheltenham news before you make your decisions.

Can Envoi Allen Complete An Historic Festival Treble?

Yes is the short answer to that question.

Still unbeaten in 11 career runs – including the 2019 Champion Bumper and the 2020 Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle, Envoi Allen can make it win number 12 by taking the Marsh Novices’ Chase in 2021.

Envoi Allen Latest News:

“Envoi Allen is in good form,” Gordon Elliott told Sky Sports Racing.

“He’s a horse who’ll only ever do what he has to do, but he keeps winning and once he keeps doing that, I don’t mind.”

Could we see Envoi Allen match the great Altior record for consecutive wins? Only time will tell...

    • Snooker’s Welsh Open was established in 1992

    • Mark Williams is the only Welsh player to win the competition, with two titles to his name

    • John Higgins is the most successful player in Welsh Open history

The Welsh Open has been a popular event in snooker betting odds since 1992. Due to be played at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport in 2021, the Welsh Open has seen different champions in each of the last five years.

As that record shows, it’s a difficult competition to predict in snooker betting tips. Only three players have made the final more than three times since the first event back in the early nineties.

Many familiar names from the top of the snooker world rankings have enjoyed success at the Welsh Open.

Ronnie O’Sullivan and Stephen Hendry have reached the final five times apiece, with The Rocket winning four times to Hendry’s three. John Higgins is the only player to reach the final more than five times.

From the tournament’s formation to locations and winners, here’s all your need to know about the Welsh Open.

    Welsh Open Snooker: History

Unlike the snooker World Championship, which was first played in 1927, the Welsh Open’s history might seem a bit underwhelming - though many of the best Welsh snooker players have competed in the event.

The competition arrived on the scene in 1992, replacing the Welsh Professional Championship. Its predecessor was only open to Welsh players.

Initially a ranking tournament held in February after the Masters, the Welsh Open was soon moved to January, replacing the Classic.

Back in 1996, a recently-turned-17 Paul Hunter became the youngest player ever to make a ranking semi-final when he qualified for the last four of the Welsh Open. Hunter went on to win the tournament two years later.

John Higgins, with five titles, is the most successful player in Welsh Open history. He’s just ahead of Ronnie O’Sullivan, who has both four titles and a couple of maximum breaks at the competition.

O’Sullivan made the first ever Welsh Open 147 back in 1999, and recorded the most famous of all in the 2014 final, clinching the match with a maximum against Ding Junhui.

    Snooker Welsh Open: Location

The Welsh Open, just like the Welsh Professional Championship, was played at the Newport Centre. The first seven events took place in Newport, but the competition was then moved to the Cardiff International Arena for the 1999 edition.

For five years, the Welsh Open remained at the Cardiff International Arena. The 2004 tournament was held at the Welsh Institute for Sport. In 2005, the competition returned to the Newport Centre, where it remained through to 2014.

World Snooker chairman Barry Hearn announced in 2014 that the event was moving away from Newport again. In the search for a bigger location, the Welsh Open moved to the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff.

In a disrupted season, the Welsh Open has returned to Newport in 2021. Celtic Manor, most well-known as the venue of the 2010 Ryder Cup, is hosting the event for the first time.

    Welsh Open Snooker: Prize Money

Fans might be debating a snooker shot clock, but the players are focused on the prize money. There’s a decent chunk of cash up for grabs at the 2021 Welsh Open – the total prize fund is just over £400,000, while the winner receives £70,000.

These are the same figures as the 2020 edition, though there’s a marked increase in the overall prize fund since 2019. The winner’s share increased to £70,000 from £60,000 back in 2017.

While that’s a healthy sum for the winner, it is less than half of the prize for winning the World Open.

The victor in the UK Championship final pockets £200,000, and losing semi-finalists at the World Championship land £100,000, almost 50% more than the Welsh Open winner.

    Snooker Welsh Open: Winners List

    • 1992 – Stephen Hendry

    • 1993 – Ken Doherty

    • 1994 – Steve Davis

    • 1995 – Steve Davis

    • 1996 – Mark Williams

    • 1997 – Stephen Hendry

    • 1998 – Paul Hunter

    • 1999 – Mark Williams

    • 2000 – John Higgins

    • 2001 – Ken Doherty

    • 2002 – Paul Hunter

    • 2003 – Stephen Hendry

    • 2004 – Ronnie O’Sullivan

    • 2005 – Ronnie O’Sullivan

    • 2006 – Stephen Lee

    • 2007 – Neil Robertson

    • 2008 – Mark Selby

    • 2009 – Ali Carter

    • 2010 – John Higgins

    • 2011 – John Higgins

    • 2012 – Ding Junhui

    • 2013 – Stephen Maguire

    • 2014 – Ronnie O’Sullivan

    • 2015 – John Higgins

    • 2016 – Ronnie O’Sullivan

    • 2017 – Stuart Bingham

    • 2018 – John Higgins

    • 2019 – Neil Robertson

    • 2020 – Shaun Murphy

    Welsh Open Snooker Betting Tips:

There were early snooker betting upsets at the 2021 Welsh Open. Mark Selby, among the pre-tournament favourites, fell to Jordan Brown in the last eight.

Five-time champion John Higgins was upset by Ali Carter in the last 32 and Judd Trump was stunned by Hossein Vafaei.

Welsh Open betting is a tricky business. Upsets are common, and the change of venue for 2021 has clearly been an issue for some of the sport’s biggest stars.

Ronnie O’Sullivan is always destined for considerable betting support, but The Rocket has only appeared in the final once in the last six years.
